What if the paper we throw away could become something beautiful again?

Join us for a hands-on exploration of creativity and sustainability as we learn the art of transforming discarded paper into unique handmade sheets. Through the process of recycled papermaking and pulp painting, participants will discover how everyday materials can be given a second life through artistic expression.

Whether you're an artist, a sustainability enthusiast or simply curious about creative making, this workshop offers an opportunity to slow down, create with intention and rethink our relationship with waste.

Highlights:
• Learn the complete recycled papermaking process from start to finish
• Create your own handmade paper sheet to take home with you
• Experiment with pulp painting techniques using coloured paper pulp
• Explore sustainability through creative practice
• Discover how waste materials can become artistic resources

Artist

Masarratfatima Sulaimani is an experimental artist whose practiceexplores the expressive possibilities of paper. She approaches the materialnot as a passive surface but as her language, shaping it through cutting, folding, and layering until it acquires a voice of its own. Her works often draw onthe rhythms of nature, architecture, and Islamic art. She creates layeredcompositions that evolve into immersive, large-scale installations. These worksinvite viewers to engage with the artwork as participants rather than mereobservers, dissolving the conventional boundary between object and audience. At the core of her practice are themes of memory, migration, and journey.Paper, at once fragile and resilient, becomes a metaphor for cycles of time, growth, and impermanence. This subtle interplay between delicacy and strengthhas shaped her distinctive place in contemporary art. Her work has beenpresented internationally, including at the Shanghai International Biennale, SikkaArt Fair, and World Art Dubai.
