Namita Gokhale, William Dalrymple, Sanjoy K. Roy, The Royal Opera House Mumbai and Avid Learning proudly present the ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival 2018 Mumbai Preview. The evening will include a reading from White Mughals by author William Dalrymple along with renditions by vocalist Vidya Shah. Dalrymple will read from a section on the celebrated and tragic love story of James Achilles Kirpatrick, 18th-century British Resident to the Hyderabadi court, and noblewoman Khair-un-Nissa, while Shah will punctuate the compelling narration with lilting music from the courts of colonial Hyderabad and the poetry of Mah Laqa Bai Chanda, the great poet and courtesan of that time.
