"A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed."
Photography connects people - through interests, locations, and cultures.  It spans time and distance as a bridge between worlds. While photographs are visual artwork.  They take something ordinary and elevate it to a position of honor.  A strand of barbed wire fencing becomes romantic; the seed of a common weed fires the imagination.

AVID – The School of Continuous Learning is proud to announce a compact course, to introduce you to ‘Digital Photography and Imaging’. This six-day course will be a mix of theory and practical sessions, devoting a substantial amount of time ‘on the field’.

The course is divided in two batches; Level I – which will provide a foundation in photographic theory, help you explore with your digital camera, teach you editing & imaging of the captured pictures, basic uploading and using new software packages and Level II – which would take you to the deeper level of understanding manual functions of adjusting the aperture, shutter, flash and introduce you to professional software’s for imaging. Night photography being the USP of the course would be introduced to both the batches with different levels of intricacy for each batch.
What’s more? – At the end of the course, AVID will organize an exhibition to display your works of art!

Danny Fontaine

Photographer, Filmmaker, Graphic Designer, Lecturer and Trainer

Danny Fontaine, Photographer, filmmaker, graphic designer, lecturer and trainer par excellence –Danny Fontaine, our faculty for the course, is all this and more! Danny began as a painter but a short trip to New York during his student years got him oriented towards photography – night photography in particular. Danny says 'Night photography gave me the opportunity to crossover painting, photography, acting, and even filmmaking.' Danny eventually graduated with a first class BA (Hon.) in Fine Art & Photography; he also took home the Kodak AOP Student Photographer of the Year 2004 award in his graduating year. Even while in college, he found that after photography, teaching was his other passion. He began his teaching career immediately after graduation. Apart from conducting private and public courses on the subject, he is also a Senior Lecturer for BA and MA courses at Kingston university . He has been a freelance photographer in the music industry with experience in both live and location shoots. He has held exhibitions of his work in reputed art galleries on both sides of the Atlantic and his photographs have been published in many of the top trade magazines and he is recognized as the master of night photography. Age certainly belies the experience of this young expert. When asked by a journalist of the e-magazine, "Inside Graphics" 'What fascinates you most about photography?' Danny Fontaine replied, 'The fact, that one still image can capture a split second, or it can capture an unlimited period of time, is an incredible thing'. His passion is now to teach this technique to other avid photographers. A visit to his colorful website www.dannyfontaine.co.uk will provide glimpses of his multifaceted personality
