After Four successful discussions spanning across Architecture, Music, Food and Theatre, Multipolis Mumbai now brings you ‘Fashion and our city’. This dialogue, brought to you by Avid learning in association with TimeOut Mumbai, is once again a knowledge-driven conversation focused on the relationship between Fashion and Mumbai, and their influence on one another-paying special focus on whether Mumbai is still the fashion capital of india?

Ferreira began his professional journey with a degree from the JJ School of Art and a tailoring course at Sheroo Coopers Academy of Tailoring. Obviously, tailoring was not something Indian boys from upper class families studied so Ferreira ended up being the only male in a class of 20 giggling girls. Soon Ferreira started his journey through the full list of design houses and companies, growing creatively at every step. A chance introduction with top British designer, Zandra Rhodes, during her visit to India, encouraged Ferreira to ask her for a job. Ferreira’s skill in designing has been utilized by mills like Mafatlal, Raymonds, Kala Niketan and umpteen other fashion companies.

Meher Castelino, a name synonymous with beauty and fashion. She is a pioneer in fashion journalism in India. Author of MANSTYLE & FASHION KALIEDOSCOPE, she is the full time fashion journalist & syndicated columnist & has been promoting Indian Model and designers in Dusseldorf since 1995.

Wendell Rodricks became the first Indian designer to be invited to the world’s largest garment fair IGEDO, Dusseldorf in 1995. Since then he has shown in Beijing, Dubai, New York, Paris and many cities worldwide, often representing the Government of India. Working out of a remote village in Goa, Rodricks has become a tour de force in India and has firmly placed Goa on the fashion map. His clothes are worn by actresses Ayesha Dharker, Rekha, Malaika Arora, Angelina Jolie, Meg Ryan, Supermodels Helena Christensen, Iman and India Hicks, writers Sudhir Kakkar, Anil Dharker, Amitav Gosh and Bachi Karkaria, musicians Shankar/Ehsan/Loy, Jose Feliciano, Remo and Jean Luc Ponty.
