The majestic Baroque interiors of The Royal Opera House, Mumbai are set to host the Dutch Baroque Gala brought by The Consulate General of the Kingdom of The Netherlands along with Avid Learning. This grand concert will feature performances by Dutch artistes, David van Ooijen on lute and Adelina Hasani on violin. Aptly staged at our heritage venue, the theme of the concert borrows from the historic Dutch Golden Era. In keeping with its rich surroundings, the performances will be tailored to present the style of Baroque music, inspired by the compositions of several musicians from the Dutch Golden Age. Music from The Dutch Golden Age was historically characterized by Baroque Orchestra, which comprised of basso continuo instruments such as the theorbo, lute, harpsichord and/or pipe organ as well as violins & woodwinds. The recital at the Royal Opera House will showcase the works of prominent musicians of the era. The two instruments in this recital - the lute & the violin represent the traditional and the evolved musical instruments of the era.
